Congratulations, we hear you say, but what is an ESF, and more importantly, what's it for?
The FDES in brief
This is anEnvironmental and Health Declaration Sheetfor construction and decoration products. An EHDS is drawn up under the responsibility of the manufacturer and is, as its name suggests, declarative. This sheet presents the results of the product's life-cycle analysis, together with health-related information, in order to calculate the building's environmental performance. A product's EHSF is valid for 5 years.
Once the manufacturer has produced the EHSF for his product, he submits it to theINIES database. This database is accessible free of charge, and includes all data compiled and transmitted by manufacturers, manufacturers' associations or government bodies.
A manufacturer can also have a product's ESDS validated by a third-party verifier. This operation adds the word "verified" to the data sheet. Third-party validation reinforces the reliability of the data communicated on the data sheet.

Why EHDS for EUROMAC2?
INIES data completes theRE2020 carbon impact calculations. The aim of these calculations is to minimize the impact of new buildings on our environment.
The INIES database groups data under several main categories:
- Default data: these are impact estimates produced by government agencies. They are therefore penalizing for the calculations, as they represent a situation where the impacts would be poorly controlled.
- Collective data: this refers to a group of manufacturers providing general information on a particular type of product.
- And finally, individual data, which is the most precise of the three solutions. They show the exact impact of the product in question.
Our FDES are individually verified to guarantee the most accurate calculations possible for your construction project.
