Claude Fromholz, co-founder of ESPACE ARCHITECTURE, talks about his collaboration with EUROMAC2

Espace Architecture in a nutshell

We employ around twenty people, and work with major customers in Lorraine, the Paris region and all over France.

Who are your customers?

We work on industrial projects, housing, nursing homes and even churches! We work in both the public and private sectors. We carry out global assignments: customer contacts, sketches, building permits, invitations to tender and the whole technical side.

How long have you been using EUROMAC2 materials?

We started working with EUROMAC2 some twenty years ago. The main advantage of this system is that we have both external and internal insulation, with a totally airtight concrete wall in the middle. This is one of the requirements of the RT 2012, which stipulates perfect airtightness. In this respect, the durability of other systems based on the use of plastic film and adhesive tape is not guaranteed over the long term.

What feedback do you get from your customers?

Tenant customers particularly appreciate the comfort and insulation provided by EUROMAC2 materials, as well as the reduction in heating costs. Walls are very easy to erect, the blocks are lightweight and EUROMAC2 monitoring ensures greater efficiency throughout the project.

What do the entrepreneurs who share your projects think?

There are the contractors who know the materials and are used to working with EUROMAC2, and the others. Initially, SMEs used to working with agglos and traditional materials are often reluctant. However, once they understand the advantages of the system, we find them in our tenders for other EUROMAC2 projects.

What's in it for social landlords?

Social landlords are prepared to spend a little more as long as there's a return on their investment. They can't afford to have tenants with high service charges, and EUROMAC2 guarantees perfect insulation throughout the building!

EUROMAC2, efficient materials?

For over 40 years, EUROMAC2 has been a benchmark in the construction industry. The materials' long history proves their reliability. Admittedly, there is competition from more recent products, but the results and long-term energy performance of these products are not yet known.
